1. How long is the trip?
Trips departing from Niagara on the Lake are 1 hr in duration. Trips departing from Lewiston NY and the Niagara Glen, can expect 45 minutes on the water. All departure points involve the same amount of time on the river and in the gorge. Simply due to proximity of the Gorge, are the three departure locations different in duration.

2. Where does the boat go?
From either departure point we travel up river (south) and into the Niagara Gorge. Once in the gorge, 200 ft walls ascend above from the water line. The boat makes its way up into the famous whirlpool and then we head back on down (north) through Devils Hole Rapids. You return to the same location from which you boarded, this is a round trip excursion.

3. Has the boat ever gone over the Falls?
Our trip is down river from the falls. The closest we get to the falls is the Whirlpool which is approximately a mile north. A good section of class six whitewater keep us from going any further up river past the whirlpool. This area provides some of the most beautiful scenery in Niagara.

4. How many people does the boat hold?
We have 7 boats is our fleet and they each have different capacity limits. The Jet Dome holds 40 passengers. Most of our Wet Jet boats hold 48 passengers and one of our boats holds 54.

5. How old do you have to be to ride on the Jet Boat?
For the Wet Jet trip you must be at least 6 yrs of age and 44 inches. For the Jet Dome trip you must be at least 4 yrs of age and 40 inches.

6. Can seniors take part in the trip?
Absolutely! There is NO AGE LIMIT for a jet boater. Our record holder is 92 years old. We do maintain however that participants (of any age) should be of good health, free of heart, neck, or back problems and not pregnant. Also, seating in the boat ranges depending on the intensity of the trip that passengers are looking for. Details are explained at the pre trip orientation and passengers can choose where they would like to sit in the boat following their briefing.

7. Do you get wet on the trip?
At times during your experience (on the Wet Jet tour) you can be seated in the boat, knee or even waist high in water. Yes folks, this can be as wet as swimming. We recommend a full change of clothes, and of course have change rooms on site. In the summer months Jet Boaters typically wear their swimsuit. If you are interested in the Jet Dome, you will stay dry and are encouraged to bring your cameras for some of the best scenic and nature shots imaginable.

8. I know I`m going to get wet but is there some sort of gear
you provide Jet Boaters?

Yes we do provide gear to our Wet Jet passengers which will help to keep you more comfortable on board. The gear is useful in keeping you a lot warmer (but certainly not drier). Some of the items we provide are: wool sweater, full length zip up jumper, poncho, life vest (of course) and a pair of wet suit booties. Passengers can elect to wear their own footwear or sandals but must realize they will be getting wet. If electing to bring your sandals they must have a back strap and cannot be the "flip flop" type.

9. Can you fall out of the boat?
While falling out is clearly not a norm, it is important to remember there is an element of risk dealing with any water activity. Whitewater rescue is part of our Captain and crew training in order to respond quickly and efficiently to any situation. The 15 year history and thousands of passengers who have experienced the Niagara River Gorge confirm the whitewater expertise of our organization

10. I have made reservations for a Jet Boat trip and have been told to be onsite 30mins before my departure, why is that?
We require all Jet Boaters to be on site with us a prior to their departure. This provides time to register, change and attend the required pre trip safety orientation and briefing. Failure to be onsite at the required time will result in your reservation being moved to another available time. Please allow plenty of time to navigate traffic, park and register as required.

11. Is there free on site parking?
Jet Boaters departing from Lewiston NY enjoy ample free parking right on site. In Niagara on the Lake we have free parking available in our lot as well as on some surrounding streets. However, during busy season our parking facilities fill up quite fast. Additional paid parking is available on Melville Street and costs $1/hr collected by the Town of Niagara on the Lake. We certainly do our best to help everyone find an appropriate parking spot while visiting us.

12. I`m driving from Niagara Falls, how long will it take to get to the departure location?
From Niagara Falls NY to Lewiston NY we are approximately a 10-15 minute drive north from the falls. From Niagara Falls ON to Niagara on the Lake we are approximately a 20-30 minute drive north of the falls. At times during the summer the drive to our facility can take longer than expected due to increased tourist traffic. The drive to our dock is gorgeous and visitors love stopping along the way to see the view, pick up some fresh picked fruit and to walk around. Please give yourself plenty of time when driving from the falls. And of course, call us anytime for directions.

13. I've made a reservation but now would like to change the date and time?
Call and speak with our reservations department and they will be pleased to change your trip time so it fits better with your schedule. We offer this complimentary service to our customers and do our best to find you an appropriate and available time. Always keep in mind there are no refunds at anytime.

14. I am coming to Niagara Falls in October, are the Jet Boats still open during that time of year?
The answer is yes! Our season runs from the third week of April until around the third week of October depending on weather. In 2005 we closed on October 27th. Please call in advance for reservations. Lewiston departures are slightly more limited and will likely be running on weekends only in October.

15. How fast do the Jet Boats go?
Although the most impressive feature of our boats are the power they have, it is also equally impressive that they can travel up to 65 miles per hr on such a big river. Generally speaking our boats weigh upwards of 24,000 lbs and carry approximately 7,000 lbs of passengers. On a big river such as the Niagara, we require all 1500 horsepower to maneuver and play in the moving water... the power to do so is the amazing part.

16. I`ve been on the Jet Boats 4 or 5 times, can I drive the boat?
No.

17. I`m planning on visiting in June, should I make reservation?
Although reservations are not mandatory, they are highly recommended. Certainly, as visitors with tight schedules it might be important to reserve your party for a specific trip time. It is not unusual that trips do sell out with groups and other pre booked reservations and therefore by making a reservation you have guaranteed your departure and time. Again, we can always move your reservation (free of charge) if your plans do change.

18. My children would like to go on the trip but I don't. Can they ride by themselves?
Passengers under the age of 16 must travel with an adult over the age of 18.
