1) Niagara's Raging Rapids, Then and Now. (grades 6-12) * Now Booking for Fall 2007 & Spring 2008 *
In an alliance with Discovery Channel we were involved in the production of a program entitled "Niagara's Raging Rapids". The program focuses on the collection of data using a variety of techniques (including the use of our vessels) which enabled researchers to carbon date Niagara Falls and River. As well, the program discusses and explores pre and post war of 1812, the advent of electric generation through Edison and Tesla, the role of international bridges, the economics and industry around and in relationship to Niagara Falls and River. Further, student work books are utilized in the classroom following the return from our trip. These work books combine themes from both the "Niagara Raging Rapids" program and the on board River Guides and commentary here at Whirlpool. Both the Discovery Channel video and student workbooks are provided complimentary with this program. (Available midweek until the end of October, not available during July or August, no blackout dates otherwise.)
2) Business Education Program (grades 9-12) * Now Booking for Fall 2007 & Spring 2008 *
Using resources here at Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours, the Niagara on the Lake business community, and the Chamber of Commerce, this program looks to expose students to local business through hands on learning and presentations. Guest speakers from different areas address real life business issues, and challenges, through their personal experience. John Kinney - owner/operator of Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours - is a guest speaker, as are representatives from the Chamber of Commerce and/or local businesses. This program will introduce students to: basic business operations, the role and application of technology, personal management skills, accounting, marketing, international business, employability skills, to expand their career choices, etc.

This program is coordinated on specific days during our season. Available April/May/June and September/October. Due to high interest levels for this program we have limited our presentations to specific days.
Lewiston New York programs are run on consecutive Thursdays during the spring and fall.
Niagara on the Lake programs are run on consecutive Fridays during the spring and fall.
NOTE: We have a capacity in the number of students we can accommodate for this program. Please book well in advance to avoid disappointment.

3) Tourism Development (grades 9-12) * Now Booking for Fall 2007 & Spring 2008 *
This is a less structured program and is generally tailored to your class room needs. In short, we can provide a guest speaker for up to a half hour to speak with your class about tourism and the role of tourism here at Whirlpool. One of our managers will answer questions and touch on specific topics currently being taught in your class. This program can be offered at anytime and can fit right into your itinerary for the day.
